Regional optical network for hospitals

Regional optical network for hospitals with parameters that enable an access to geographically remote working sites as to one organization with one information and telecommunication infrastructure was created by Center of information systems of Regional Heath Corporation. Masaryk Hospital in Ústí nad Labem in September 2006 started and in August 2007 finish realization of a big project called “Public Internet in The Ústí Region hospital network” co-financed from EU structural funds. This enabled the creation of regional high speed communication network among The Ústí Region hospitals on the basis of rented dark fibre connection between the towns and realization or purchasing of last mile with the same technology. Modular active elements used in individual localities are equipped and ready to be transferred to 10 Gbps ethernet. Protocol MPLS of backbone network enables the operation of number of various information systems including regional health care information system, PACS system etc. Built regional PC network, owned and run by health care institution, is connected to Internet and national academic network.
